The project's second major excavation has already begun. We are investigating the site of the 'Minchery' - a medieval nunnery, part of which still survives as the Priory Pub near the Kassam Stadium. We are digging three trenches in the paddock across the lane to the west of the pub (on the opposite side to the stadium). There are post-medieval and medieval remains from the time of the nunnery and its subsequent life as Minchery Farm, Roman remains, and hints of prehistoric activity around the Northfield Brook.

All are welcome as visitors and volunteers. There will be public open days on Sunday 21 October and Saturday 27 October.
